It is a giant growing cold hardy banana from Yunnan China. The plant can grow in ideal conditions to 40 feet tall or more. The pesudostem (trunk) will get a dark pink to purple color with age. The Golden African Banana is sold under different names, such as Giant African or Gold Rhino Horn. The origins of this banana are most likely of the Ivory coastal region of African and it is assumed was brought to the Americas via slave ship.
